| The Giclee Iris Print is a new process using advanced technology to create a lustrous continuous tone one of a kind digital print that meets or exceeds the quality of traditional offset lithography and screen printing. Organic water-based four color inks are applied to the surface of archival papers from tiny jets one tenth the diameter of a human hair. The 100% cotton rag paper is placed onto a drum and while spinning the paper accepts 4 million dots of color a second, about the size of a blood corpuscle with a dpi (dots per inch) of 1800. The resulting resolution give a larger color gamut or spectrum than other conventional methods. The colors will last as long as any watercolor. As with any work of art it should not be exposed to direct sun light or to water or damp conditions. All prints are limited editions, signed and numbered. |
